Senegal Universities Outlook
Senegal universities and it’s government has been focusing on ways to improve the management of higher education in Senegal, and to expand the system including the establishment of an ICT network and a feasibility study for a second university in the capital, Dakar. Additional efforts ensure that Senegal is able to diversify its tertiary education system and increase access to short-term tertiary education.
Gaston Berger University
Gaston Berger University (GBU), or L’Université Gaston Berger (UGB), located just outside Saint-Louis, was the second university established in Senegal. Originally the University of Saint-Louis, it was renamed for Gaston Berger, an important French-Senegalese philosopher, on December 4, 1996.
Cheikh Anta Diop University
Cheikh Anta Diop University, also known as the University of Dakar, is an university in Dakar, Senegal. It is named after the Senegalese historian and anthropologist Cheikh Anta Diop and has an enrollment of over 60,000.
The University of Ziguinchor Assane Seck (UASZ) is located in Ziguinchor, Casamance, Senegal and was founded in 2007. UASZ essentially offers three Units Training and Research (UFR), which are: the Faculty of Science and Technology, the Faculty of Economic and Social Sciences and the Faculty of Letters, Arts and Humanities.

The Euro – African University opens the prospects of large international market , through cross-training and two high-level degrees in the areas of public administration and business. The Euro-African University welcomes students from all countries in the sub-region of Central Africa, Madagascar, the Comoros Islands, Europe and the Middle East.
University of the Sahel
The University of the Sahel is a private higher education institution located in Dakar and was founded in 1998. It comprises faculties, institutes, laboratories, administration and campuses devoted to teaching, research and services related to the objects of the university. Faculties include: Faculty of Science and Technology; Faculty of Economics and Management; the Faculty of Law and Political Science; Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences; the Faculty of Languages, Literature and Cultures.
