A recognized higher education institution in Namibia is an institution, or branch, that is registered with the National Council for Higher Education (NCHE) and whose academic programmes are accredited by the Namibia Qualifications Authority (NQA).

University of Namibia
The University of Namibia (UNAM) is the largest and leading National institution of higher education in the country. It is a diverse institution with a student population from all over the Continent. Although a relatively young university, it has grown to support a student population of 19,000 this year. Over the last few years, the University of Namibia inherited four Colleges of Education and two Agricultural Colleges, each with their own distinct brand identity.
